Tshwane Convention & Visitors Services Bureau
Tshwane Convention and Visitors Services Bureau is a strategic unit within the Municipality of Tshwane. It was established to provide support and strategic advice to all meetings, incentives and event planners that are considering hosting their events in Tshwane. It is also responsible for raising the profile of Tshwane as a premier MICE destination. Being South Africa’s administrative capital, home to 134 foreign missions, 8 research institutes and 4 institutions of higher learning, Tshwane is indeed an ideal location for knowledge sharing, discussions of high profile and lasting solutions to many global challenges.

City Events Joint Operations Committee (JOC)
In terms of the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act, 2010 (Act 2 of (2010), the City of Tshwane has established the City Events Joint Operations Committee (JOC). This committee is now fully functional. It is responsible for mitigating disasters that may involve the City’s services departments, by-law enforcement agencies and departments that deal with event compliance.
These stakeholders include but are not limited to the following:

- Fire Safety
- Ambulance Services
- Building Control
- Parks and Horticulture
- Metro Police
- Health Services

The JOC ensures that all events presented in Tshwane comply with legislation.
The JOC checklist consists of plans (which are applicable according to the nature of the event) and these should be presented to the JOC at least eight weeks before the event.

Gauteng Convention and Event Bureau (GCEB)
Gateway to South Africa, Gauteng is where it all starts. With an extensive track record of staging successful conferences and events, this business events destination is the epi-centre of South Africa’s business events industry, offering world-class venues and infrastructures for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions and events.
The Gauteng Convention and Event Bureau (GCEB) provides information and assistance to meeting and incentive planners, media, corporate and association buyers.
Working beside organisations and business events leaders support services include standard bid support material, venue and accommodation sourcing, network to gain local association support, government lobbying and promotional support.
Using its extensive database of key stakeholders such as airlines, hotels, venues, tour operators and government protocol offices, the Bureau is capable of delivering quality services to interested parties.

South Africa National Convention Bureau (SANCB)
The South Africa National Convention Bureau (SANCB) is a ‘one-stop solution’ for independent information and assistance, giving neutral advice on all aspects of hosting and organising any business event in South Africa.
The SANCB, in conjunction with South Africa’s city or provincial convention bureau, provides dedicated assistance to meeting planners, as well as incentive and exhibition organisers who are considering South Africa as their next destination. Support is provided on every level, using expertise, strategic planning and destination knowledge to ensure the conference, exhibition or incentive in South Africa is memorable for delegates and hassle-free for organisers and associations
What does SANCB do?
The SANCB provides support when bidding for conventions, as well as during the hosting of conventions.
The SANCB will also play an active role in liaising with relevant government officials and with bid lobbying and promotion, as well as organising local site inspections and garnering the assistance of local convention bureau.
The SANCB provides assistance with marketing South Africa, as well as marketing business events in South Africa through promotion and publicity.
