The CSIR International Convention Centre recently hosted a professional information bidding and networking session in collaboration with representatives from the South African National Convention Bureau, Gauteng Tourism Authority, and the City of Tshwane Convention Bureau.
The session guests included stakeholders with the potential to host or to bring international events or meetings to South Africa. The convention bureau representatives shared information and the assistance available when hosting business events and incentives in South Africa.
“The events industry is a multifaceted industry with enormous potential to reignite economic activity in our country. Given its multifaceted nature, the honor is on influential individuals in varied industries, be it science, academia, government or corporate to play a role, small or big in rebuilding our economy. To this end, we found it necessary to host a knowledge sharing session with the industry role players capable of bringing international meetings to our city and or the country. We are confident that with solid support from national, provincial, and local structures of the business tourism industry, we will soon reignite the industry.”- said Minister Kganyago, Business Development Manager, CSIR ICC.
