The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research International Convention Centre (CSIR ICC) remains committed to making a difference in the lives of children within its community through a series of outreach events.
The CSIR ICC chose the Give Them Hope Foundation as the beneficiary of its donation drive. The foundation is an orphanage based in Nellmapius, Pretoria, that is dedicated to helping children between the ages of 0 and 18 years. The children comprise those who are HIV positive, orphaned, abandoned and those who live with poor or sick parents who cannot take care of them. Furthermore, the foundation provides children from child-headed households with daily meals after school.
The CSIR ICC team donated carpet tiles to the children’s home, which have been repurposed in the home’s bedrooms, classrooms and office spaces.
“Our organisation would wholeheartedly like to express our gratitude for your donation of the carpets, which will help us especially during winter,” says Pinky Mothiba, Director of the Give Them Hope Foundation.
The CSIR ICC has placed a branded donation box in its foyer and encourages visitors to donate their conference materials/surpluses. The centre also extends its gratitude to those sponsors, delegates and clients who continue to contribute to the initiative.
